PLAY FOR ME
November is traditionally a month of gratitude, and I have been blessed with the gift of a few off notes to help me practice hearing the melody as we kick off the season of thanks.

Loving when the ball has been fumbled and loving when the penalty flag is thrown takes effort, but the celebration of victory is so much sweeter when you have shared in the defeats.
I want my children to find success in life, and I’m trying to teach them the lessons they will need. Yet, again, I am the one learning.
Sometimes the lessons we learn don’t come from the textbook. Looking back on the group of students that just completed their 8th grade year, I realize they taught me several lessons.
The students that are non standard according to the academic world are trapped behind desks where they are pushed to operate in their weaknesses rather than their strengths. They are told they need to work harder and achieve more and that they are not enough in themselves. (Does this sound familiar to any of you that are trying to live up to the false standards our culture promotes?)
Whether you are going 13.1 miles or surviving a marathon of daily tasks, look for the lessons you can learn along the way.
